RBC Capital Markets Scholarship for Women & Diversity Scholarship 2018

Welcome to the RBC Capital Markets' Application Page for the 2018 Scholarship for Women and the Diversity Scholarship

RBC Capital Markets is committed to fostering workplace diversity. Through our two scholarships - the Scholarship for Women and Diversity Scholarship - we aim to recognize and reward outstanding Canadian undergraduate business, engineering and economics students, who are interested in pursuing a career in banking and finance.
 
Scholarship Details
 
Up to four Diversity Scholarships and up to four Scholarships for Women will be awarded (for a total of up to eight RBC Capital Markets Scholarships). Please note that if you are eligible, you need only complete the application form once in order to apply for both scholarships. Each recipient will receive:
  • C$5,000 towards tuition for their final year of studies.
  • An offer of paid employment for a 2019 Summer Analyst position at RBC Capital Markets in Investment Banking or Global Markets, in the Toronto office.
  • A pairing with a senior professional from RBC Capital Markets, who will serve as a mentor.
Timeline

Following the deadline, applications will be reviewed by a team of business leaders at RBC Capital Markets. Any shortlisted applicants will then be invited to participate in first round phone interviews and final round in-person interviews in Toronto through Summer 2018. (Any pre-approved travel costs will be covered by RBC Capital Markets).

The recipients of both Scholarships will be announced by September 2018. All Scholarship recipients will join the RBC Capital Markets Investment Banking or Global Markets Summer Class of 2019.


Tips on the Application Process

  • You will be required to upload a scan of an official transcript from your first two years of university studies. If it is not possible to receive an official transcript by the deadline which includes your Winter 2018 grades, please include an unofficial transcript which includes grades for this semester.
  • You will be able to use the "Next" and "Back" buttons to make changes to your application until you submit the application on the final page.
  • Starting on the second page, there is an option to save and continue your application at a later time. This option is found at the bottom of the page.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Scholarship for Women you must meet the following criteria:
 
  • Female students in full-time undergraduate studies graduating in December 2019 or Spring 2020, enrolled in a business, engineering or economics program at a university in Canada
  • Available to work full-time May-August 2019, continuing full-time undergraduate studies September 2019
  • Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA/80%, or equivalent, diverse extra-curricular participation, and community involvement
  • Canadian Citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or individuals who are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer until, and including, September 2019


To apply for the Diversity Scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
 
  • Identify as a visible minority, female, of Aboriginal or Indigenous background, LGBT+, a veteran, and/or a person with disabilities
  • Currently in full-time undergraduate studies graduating in December 2019 or Spring 2020, enrolled in a business, engineering or economics program at a university in Canada
  • Available to work full-time May-August 2019, continuing full-time undergraduate studies September 2019
  • Minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA/80%, or equivalent, diverse extra-curricular participation, and community involvement
  • Canadian Citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or individuals who are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer until, and including, September 2019


To apply for both scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:
 
  • Meet criteria described for both the Scholarship for Women and the Diversity Scholarship, and wish to be considered for both.
